Who Can Benefit from the Scheme?

The Ladli Behna Yojana is targeted at economically weaker sections of society. To qualify, women must meet the following criteria:

Income and Land Ownership: The annual family income should not exceed ?2.5 lakh, and the family should not own more than five acres of agricultural land.
Taxpayer Status: No family member should be a taxpayer.
Employment Restrictions: No family member should hold a government job.
Vehicle Ownership: The family should not own a tractor or any four-wheeler vehicle.
Age Limit: Women born between January 1, 1963, and January 1, 2000, are eligible to apply.
Social Security Pension: Women already receiving less than ?1,250 per month from any other social security pension scheme will be topped up to ?1,250 under this scheme.
Marital Status: Married women, including widows, divorcees, and abandoned women, can apply. Unmarried women aged 21 and above are also eligible for the scheme, enhancing its scope to include a broader demographic.

Application Process

To apply for the Ladli Behna Yojana, applicants can access the forms from local Gram Panchayats, ward offices, or the Ladli Behna portal online. The application process requires:

A valid identification document.
An Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
A recent photograph to be attached to the application form.

Recent Updates

In the latest development, the 20th installment of the scheme is set to be disbursed on January 12, with ?1,250 being transferred to the bank accounts of eligible women. However, approximately 1.26 crore women will receive the benefit this time, as 1.63 lakh women have been declared ineligible due to exceeding the age limit of 60 years. The government has clarified that the funds will only be transferred to the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries.
