Windows 11 is now officially launched. Microsoft’s new Windows operating system was released in July 2015, almost six years after the release of Windows 10. The update is being billed as the “next generation” of Windows and brings several major visual changes over the previous version. This includes a completely new boot screen and startup sound. The Start menu has been showed in the center instead of the left, and the Start menu window has also been changed. Elements like the “Hi Cortana” welcome screen and live tiles have been removed in Windows 11

One of the highest changes we’ve seen in the recently leaked iOS is the new interface. It starts with a new setup screen. Menus & windows have rounded corners, similar to the new iPadOS. You will now see the Start menu in the center. However, you can change its position and move the Start button to the left by going to Settings. The updated Start menu does not include any Live Tiles, which were part of Windows 10. There’s also a upgraded search button next to the Start menu, which helps users find apps and preloaded tasks on the latest Windows platform.

Windows 11 introduces new sounds and alerts, including a new startup sound. There are also small changes in gestures. Apart from that, you get new themes, some new wallpapers and an improved dark mode. Windows 11 brings new widgets, which can be swiped from the left side of the widget screen. For a better multitasking processing, the Maximize button now gives you the option to split the active screen between different parts of the desktop. Microsoft is calling this new experience Snap Layout. This layout allows you to open multiple different screens on your computer just by hovering your mouse over the maximum button. It also includes several preset layouts.


Additionally, Microsoft has improved multiple monitor support and it is now easier for users to work on virtual desktops. Virtual desktops are similar to how you would add multiple desktops in Apple’s macOS. it comes with an upgraded touch keyboard that also includes GIF integration from Tenor. It has a preloaded virtual keyboard, which can be placed anywhere on the screen. Users can access system-wide voice dictation support. There are also options like voice typing and voice commands to make your typing easier Also, several interface-level changes have also been made for a better touch experience.

Microsoft increased performance 


Microsoft has also upgrade the performance of browsers based on Chromium. In addition Microsoft Edge now comes with vertical tab support. The new Windows Auto includes support for HDR and DirectX 12 Ultimate. It also has an xCloud integration to enable cloud gaming. Microsoft has added new features to its preloaded app store – Microsoft Store – in Windows 11. The design is also new.

Windows 11 availability, free upgrade


Windows 11 will start be available for testing to Windows Insider users starting next week. It will be available as a free upgrade for Windows 10 users later this year and will come pre-installed on new PCs. Microsoft has also released the PC Health Check app to check if their Windows 10 PCs are upgradable. It is also speculated that the company will bring the latest operating system to Windows 7 and Windows 8 systems as well. However, the company confirmed to Gadgets 360 that users with Windows 7 PCs will have to first purchase a Windows 10 license and then upgrade to Windows 11. But for this they need to check computer eligibility. In 2022, customers will also have the option to purchase Windows 11 at retail and install it on eligible Windows 7 devices.

Windows 11 minimum hardware requirements


The company said it has worked with all major silicon partners, including AMD, Intel and Qualcomm. However, if we talk about the minimum hardware requirements, Windows 11 is not as light as Windows 10, as the system requires at least a 64-bit x86 or ARM processor to run with at least 4 GB of RAM. 64 GB storage. In contrast, Windows 10 requires at least 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.
