A Big step has been taken to promote women's cricket in India. The auction of players in the Women's Premier League is being held at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai. Recall that the inaugural edition of the Women's Premier League will begin on March 4 and the final match will be played on March 26.
The total number of teams in the Women's IPL is 5. Each team has got an amount of 12 crores in the auction to buy players. Initially 409 players were shortlisted in the auction, later 39 more names were added. With this, the number of players has now increased to 448.
The 39 players who have been added to the auction list. Among them 23 players are from India, while 8 are from Thailand. The list includes 4 players from England, 2 from Scotland and one each from Australia and Netherlands.

Gujarat Giants opened the box for Australian player Ashley Gardner. He has bought this player for Rs 3.20 crore. Gujarat beat UP Warriors and Mumbai Indians for Gardner in the auction.
England captain Natalie Sciver got the same amount as Gardner. He was included in their team by Mumbai Indians for Rs 3.20 crore. On the other hand, UP Warriors bought Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma for INR 2.60 crores.
Mumbai Indians, who missed out on Smriti Mandhana, bought Indian women's team captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Mumbai beat Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriors to buy Harmanpreet Kaur for Rs 1.80 crore.
England all-rounder Sophie Ecclestone got the same amount as Harmanpreet Kaur. Ecclestone was bought by UP Warriors for Rs 1.80 crore.
Australia's star all-rounder Ellyse Perry was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 1.7 crore. Delhi Capitals and RCB saw a fierce fight for Ellis. The Delhi team withdrew its name by placing a bid of 1.60 crores.
