Xiaomi, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has announced a partnership with Leica, a German camera manufacturer. The first flagship smartphone from this relationship, according to the company, will be released in July of this year.
In the past, the German corporation has worked with tech companies such as Panasonic and Huawei. This isn't the first time a Chinese smartphone manufacturer has teamed up with a European firm to improve its photographic skills. OnePlus and OPPO formerly collaborated with Hasselblad, a Swedish business.
Xiaomi announced a long-term partnership with Leica to develop photography technology for its forthcoming flagship smartphones in a press statement. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer stated in a statement that the two businesses have similar views on mobile photography technologies. The cooperation, according to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, will help the company's image strategy.
"Xiaomi is dedicated to provide the best possible user experience and has always wished to push the boundaries of smartphone photography. Xiaomi and Leica have similar goals and ideals, and they value each other's strengths and expertise. Xiaomi's image strategy would benefit greatly from this collaboration "Xiaomi Group's founder, chairman, and CEO, Lei Jun, stated.
Xiaomi's most recent product release was their premium smartphone, which was released on April 27. The smartphone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and a triple-rear camera module that includes a 50MP main camera. Xiaomi's latest smartphone is available on the company's own website as well as on the e-commerce behemoth Amazon.
